We reach our 160th single release on Stripped Recordings with a special three way collaboration between Lithuanian duo Phonic Scoupe (Justas Dziim, Tadas King), Stripped label head Norman H and special guest appearance from Julie Mintz for this single entitled "Flying Away". Phonic Scoupe are no strangers as the last 18 months or so since their first release for us have seen them grow so musically as well as becoming noticed by DJ's the calibre of Hernan Cattaneo & Guy J. Julie Mintz has been making a name for herself away from dance music born in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA she performs what has been described as Gothic Americana ( A country infused take on folk that's both sweetly ethereal and steeped in moody melancholy. She joined Moby's live band a s a backing vocalist / keyboardist in 2011 recently performing a duet with him for the Paul Haggis movie "Third Person".
When approached to write a song and sing for this track she jumped at the chance to move into the dance music arena and came up with a beautiful melodic work giving the track its title "Flying Away".
